About me

Imam Darnell (Karriem) Karim

Imam Darnell Karim, a lifelong practitioner of the Muslim faith, has been an active member of the community for over seventy-four years. He served as an assistant to Imam W. Deen Mohammed in Islamic Studies and has devoted his life to the education and development of the Muslim community.

Darnell’s educational journey was shaped under the guidance of the University of Islam/Clara Muhammad School system, where he began his studies in Arabic and Islamic Studies at the age of eleven. Over the years, he had several instructors, with Professor Jamil Diab being the most influential. Professor Diab taught him the Arabic language for a decade, fostering a deep understanding of Islamic teachings.

As a child, Darnell was a classmate and close friend of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, who later became a globally respected Muslim leader to over 2.5 million followers.
